The weekend started great on Saturday. We unloaded knowing we had to make some drastic changes to the #17 sprint. We got all the changes made, and went out for practice...we were flat out fast. But we still had some tire issues. Qualifying came around and once again we were 3 1000ths of a second off the track record. We ended up third fastest out of 25 sprints! Next was the fast dash with the top 4 qualifiers running 4 laps. We finished 2nd, and so far so good for Sunday's feature.

On Sunday, we were busy making changes to the car and we knew this car would be fast. The feature came and we started in the 3rd row. On around lap 10 Tyler's front nose wing got smashed in which took all the downforce off his nose. So we went into a "get what you can" mode, with a car that can now not turn. We finished 12th for the day...still not a bad day with a damaged car...12th out of 25 cars!

We will be at Lorain County Speedway to redeem ourselves October 13-14. Hope to see you there!

Well, race fans…we had a rain-out on Saturday at Sandusky Speedway.

We arrived at 1:00 pm with skies threatening, but we were able to get in some hot laps. We had a great qualifying run and would be sitting on the pole for the feature race! Just as we got the news that Tyler would be pole sitter, the rain just came pouring down!

The next scheduled races will be the Cavalcade at Sandusky Speedway on September 22 & 23rd ( a two day event with the feature races being run on Sunday---times will be posted soon!)

Jake's Racing had a very great Labor Day.

Tyler Dunn, driver of the Jake's #17 sprint car, was the fastest qualifier with a 13.11 on the 3/8th mile track at Lorain County Speedway.

As the fastest qualifier, Tyler got to draw the pill to see what the invert would be…..well, he drew a 12 invert….which meant he would be starting 12th in the field…not a great draw.

Tyler lined up for the feature race, and was on a full-throttle charge! He moved his way through the field, after a red flag for an accident halting the feature, he was all the way up to 4th place.

On the restart, he passed the 3rd place car, then he got around a lapped car, and soon moved up to 2nd and never looked back!!!

We finished 2nd! From 12th to 2nd in 30 laps--it was an exciting race with a great finish!

We will be at Sandusky Speedway this Saturday, September 8th, so come catch a race! Racing starts at 6:30 p.m.

Previous Racing News

Last weekend Tyler Dunn pulled out our new Jake's Racing sprint car built by Bruce Rebman at Sandusky Speedway and we came in 1000th of a second from breaking the track record... WOW! We are so happy to be reunited with Bruce, the "King of Sprints" and we're looking forward to a long and lasting relationship.

As the night moved on we finished third in the fast dash and 10th in the feature, as it was called with 9 laps to go due to rain.

So not bad for Team Jake's. We'll be at Lorain Speedway on September 3rd and Columbus Speedway September 8th. Come see us!!
